Maison Louis Marie is the result of a long, rich family history in fragrance, beginning with Louis Marie Aubert du Petit Thouars: a pioneer of French botanical history who was exiled to Madagascar, La Réunion, and Mauritius during the French Revolution. There, he discovered a vast array of plant specimens, collected over 2,000, and was subsequently elected a member of the prestigious Académie des Sciences—the engravings and sketches featured on the fragrance packaging are from his journals.
