Kasia, Piotruś, and Maksio live with their mother on the first floor of an old tenement building. Like many families, they have their daily rituals, joys, and sorrows. On the ground floor live their mother's friend, Elwira, whom they can always count on, and the elderly Mrs. Walczyńska. There's also a girl who has been sitting on the stairs for some time, sad and lonely. Kasia, the narrator of this story, sees in their ordinary lives what's invisible at first glance. Thanks to her, we see a world where their mother can transform into a butterfly and fight off dragons, the children bathe in Moon Lake, a bear visits them regularly, and everyone loves kohlrabi stuffed with ice cream.

A while ago, I wanted to get a tattoo. Little Be, aka my daughter Basia, found the fantastic tattoo artist Kasia Palus on Instagram. I fell in love with her drawings, full of wonderful feminine energy. I especially liked the cheerful duck and ordered one. Ultimately, I chickened out and decided against it, but in the process, I learned
that Kasia dreams of illustrating a children's book. I thought, "Maybe? Her drawings are so beautiful!" And then suddenly, as only happens in fairy tales, the whole story "sparked" in my head – about the great power of love, friendship, and imagination. About the strength of women.
