Spring is coming – a time of thaw, blossoming buds, and brand new adventures at Gajówka!
Early spring at the forester's lodge is full of surprises! During a nature lesson in the field, Gaja and her dad stumble upon lynx tracks, spring cleaning turns into a treasure hunt, and a chiropterologist visits Gajówka to advise on how to help the bats living in the shed.
Gaja gradually befriends Wiktoria – they make beaded jewelry, have a sleepover, and form the Forest Crew club, joined by Wiktoria's younger siblings, Patryk and Patrycja.
There's no shortage of family activities either. The Wicherkowie family melts an ecological Marzanna (effigy), plans an expedition along the Polish Mountains Crown trail, and plants elderberries. Readers will also spend Easter with them, concluding with a joyful "śmigus-dyngus" (Wet Monday).
"Gaja z Gajówki" by Anna Włodarkiewicz ("Misiu, wróć", "Lato Toli"), with illustrations by Kasia Piątek, is a humorous, charming story about a freckled girl who will show young readers a simple but incredibly interesting life in nature, filled with love and friendship.
