DESCRIPTION

"I've been transplanting and sowing plants since I was a child. Over time, I became a biologist, and later a garden designer. I have my own large garden – a training ground where I bring my ideas to life. I would love to share my passion with you through this book."
A pioneering guide on the Polish market, written from the perspective of a practitioner, scientist, and biodiversity conservation enthusiast. The author explains what a wild garden is, why it's worth creating, how many species it can accommodate, and what we should know before starting to plan one.
Several hundred plant species that can appear in a wild garden are described here: flowers, trees, shrubs, and climbers. We'll also learn how plants migrate, how to plant and care for trees, how to create hedges, and how to sow a wildflower meadow and when to mow it. We'll read about woodland meadows, wetlands, heathlands, spring forest flowers, moss, dead trees, and invasive species that are best avoided. We'll also learn about the animals that live in a wild garden, but above all, we'll understand biodiversity and how it shapes itself. This unique book about a love of nature teaches us that you don't always have to work hard to achieve a beautiful result. Sometimes it's worth giving nature its freedom and seeing how it surprises us.
The story flows swiftly through the riparian forests or sways in the calm waters of the alder swamps. Łukasz's green heart and green soul are palpable in every word. "I create a wild garden so I don't have to work in it," Łukasz, a gardener and naturalist, winks at us. His voice, however, should reach everyone, as it suggests the right direction for gardening.
