Their over 25-year history dates back to 1996, when Rudy Valenta, the creator of Magna-Tiles , visited Japan. There, he encountered and fell in love with the idea for a new type of toy used in geometry classes in schools. Magnetic squares, triangles, and other shapes intrigued students and allowed them to convey knowledge in a uniquely engaging way. Working with the original creators of the blocks, Rudy introduced these magnetic blocks to the United States in 1997, where, under the name Magna-Tiles, they quickly gained recognition, particularly in the educational community.
